The i7 won't be better at running that game. As a result, either get a 15" MBP if you want to do serious gaming or just go with the i5.

Hopefully they will release Iphone 5 this fall. My 3gs is getting slow but it still works, could be the software but the overall design needs a refreshment.
I refuse to buy the Iphone 4 because it's about a year old now, to buy an Iphone 4 now is just plain stupid.

Finder:
- Have an address bar so I can copy and paste file locations. Really useful to a developer, especially with working between the Finder and Terminal.
- Have a way of seeing how much disk space directories and their children take up, both with number sizes and graphically.
- Stop freaking putting every downloaded file in the bottom right of my Desktop, on top of the last downloaded file. Put the icon anywhere else on the free half of my Desktop.
- If I empty the trash, I expect to see that volume's space taken or available value update right away for its icon, on the Desktop.
- Tabbed Finder windows?

Try deleting the backup you have now. You can do so by opening up the Preferences pane in iTunes, and going to the "Devices" tab. Then let iTunes try to make a fresh backup from scratch.

Is anyone going to be camping out? Myself and a few friends will be there. We will be playing poker and other games on our card table. :-)
If your at Arden come by and say hi.
I have 2 iphones on reserve and will probably be showing up a little before the mall opens to try and figure out where the lines are.

Yeah so I ran TU and it was only able to save for 4.3. Can anyone think of a reason to jailbreak 3.2.2 and save those to Cydia before going up to 4.3? I'm trying to think of any possible reason why I'd want to go back to 3.2.2. At this point, it seems like everything 4.3 offers is better. And I have to believe that an untethered jb will happen eventually...
Jailbreaking at 3.2.2 will not let you save SHSH. Those can only be gotten from Apple. Once they stop signing the firmware, there's absolutely no way to get them anymore.

There are a couple guys from Germany selling these for dirt cheap. I think they are all reprints. I bought a Buzz Aldrin from this seller and it's a totally awesome poster, you couldn't tell it was a fake...crisp, good contrast, glossy matte finish, even smelled fresh and new, and the colored Apple logo was perfect. The photo is stunning. I even bought another one from him. But, there is no way he is selling the volume of posters that he's selling without them being reprints, he lists a new batch of them on global.ebay.com every week. Just search for "Think different poster" and you will find a list of 24x36" Think Different posters from a seller in Germany.
Here is the same poster I bought from him. Listed at $1.00:

@comex well considering how buggy iOS 4.3.1 is => broken Wifi, broken VPN, broken ... Apple has to release 4.3.2 soon :P
Maybe they will delay the iPad 2 JB till after 4.3.2 is released.

I like the monitor Mr.Noisy recommended, the Dell 2209wa. People are raving about this monitor and amazon has them in stock. Thanks to all who have contributed! :D
I looked at that monitor on amazon. $599? Are you f@#($ kidding me? DO NOT buy this for $599. It's a fantastic monitor and I own two, but I paid a lot less than $599 for BOTH my monitors. If you're going to spend that kind of money on a screen, pick up a 24-27" wide gamut IPS model instead.
Even the updated U2211H may be a better alternative? It's still IPS, and has the "full HD" 1920x1080 resolution?

Please DON'T give me the answer on this problem but help me understand the question better. It is a take home quiz due tomorrow.
I don't know what a 'subscript' is that it refers to in this T or F Question.
Q: " An Array is a collection of elements of the same type referenced by a single name and one or more SUBSCRIPTS. The SUBSCRIPTS may be of different types as long as they are ordered. True or False"
Thanks,
-Lars

I had a 1400cs where the monitor went crazy once. The reset fixed it.
I think the reset button on PowerBook DVIs and 867Mhz/1Ghz (DVI and newer models) is a little white button underneath the keyboard on the motherboard on the upper right hand corner near the power button. Push that with no battery installed or AC plugged in. You'll lose your time and date though! (no big deal).
[Edit: if none of this works, it may be that the power cords or controller for your backlight suddenly died .. since your machine is the 1Ghz PowerBook you should still have the 1yr limited warranty right? Just BE SURE that it's a hardware problem and not a software problem (unless you have AppleCare) when you call because if it ends up being a software problem Apple tech support will charge $49...]

As long as taxes are paid then it is the earner's money. There may be a moral pressure on extremely rich people to donate to charity etc but there shouldn't be a legal one.
I think Bill Gates does great things with his wealth. His charitable work has been above and beyond what could be expected of him. I admire him for that!

I can't believe people actually fell for it =/
His videos for one could have been 10 seconds long, start cydia, show the bottom lines, done. Not to arse about for 2 minutes filming the edges of the iPad and showing multitouch gestures - yet stops swiping the screen before he gets to cydia.
Even the audio tracks in both of his videos were a dead give away...
Glad I didn't fall for it. The size of the file looked to small plus, I was reading twitter peeps saying it was fake.

Keep in mind that T-Mobile also operates Wi-Fi hotspots and probably will get into get into the wireless internet biz soon. Talking with Apple doesn't necessarily mean they are talking phones. It could be some other marketing or technical arrangement about some other product or Leopard feature.
There has also been a long standing rumor that the Blackberry Pearl (sold by TMobile) will be iTunes enabled soon.
Also don't expect Apple to allow an iPhone to be crippled. In fact, I expect Apple to sell the iPhone itself and use excess bandwidth from the various cell phone companies. Something along the lines of Virgin Mobile. Probably pay-as-you-go as well, just like iTunes.

What do you guys think of the new little template I made at the bottom. It's an attempt to let the internet-at-large somehow provide some feedback for the Guides. I realize that the internet-at-large is able to edit the guide directly, but some users may feel daunted by that, when all they really want to do is ask for more information or something.
I'm certain that a random user will need more information that he may not have himself. This simply provides them an easier mechanism to ask.
I'm not a big fan... find it very distracting. Part of it is the look, which is shared by some other templates... feel they are discordant with the rest of the site.
will play around with them when I get a chance. Besides... people can't register and post, they need to register, get 20 posts, then post :) That may be fixed shortly though

There are threads here that talk about what PITA it is to replace the hard drive in a 2010 mini. Considering it myself. I might just wait to see if apple puts a sandy bridge 4 core in the next update. The current hard drive is slow. If I do any upgrades, will put a 7200 hard drive and replace the optical with a ssd drive. I already maxed my ram to 8GB.
When will be the next update??

very interesting, now have to figure out how to create one... thanks for sharing...
Tripod is a must.
I take a photo with the desired effect like motion blur.
take a video clip. (i use a nikon d3100 with 1080p video at 24fps)
Use quicktime to select a section of the video for the motion, copy and paste to a new clip and "export as image sequence"
Now, in photoshop, resize the original image to match the size of the video frames.
overlay the individual frames, delete everything within the frames that you don't want to be moving
create individual animation frames and export as a GIF
