And that will check it even when it is not running in my dock?
Bless your soul :)
Yeah, just leave it open. Perhaps you are under the windows mentality that it is bad to leave apps open.
You can set it to chime as well when new mail arrives.

Hi
Don't know if this will be of help but I spent ages looking for a way to add subtitles to iTunes content that my deaf family members buy.
I open the movie file up in subler, the file opens fine but you can't access the movie or audio parts as they are protected but you can add a .srt file into the file.
It only takes a couple of seconds and allows them to view subtitles in iTunes but it does however make the file unplayable in QuickTime x for some reason.

You CHAMPION! :D :D
Yeah, that fixed it. It's a shame the iPod doesn't have more time-zones. You'd think they'd account for Australia! :rolleyes:No problem... :)
Coming from a small European country outside EU, I can understand your frustration of being left out, sometimes (all though we haven't got that particular problem, as we share time zone with e.g. Paris and Berlin... ;))

People are getting way to desperate and inpatient for the iPad 2 JB. My only regret is I didn't hold on to my first gen, but hey, what are you going to do?

RIP.
I've always loved "Stuck in the Middle With You", but I think that is the first time I've ever seen the video. Cool. For the longest time, I didn't know that was Rafferty singing.

Here are a few forums where you can read opinions about video gear for the amateur and semipro filmmaker. There are surely hundreds of others. These should give you a feel for what others were looking for and how they solved their problems.

I have heard about the massaging thing. Does it really work? Could someone list some specific steps to this process? How hard exactly do I need to press and for how long? Also, since I already have one stuck pixel now, does that mean I am more prone to stuck pixels in the future?

That's a good cheat sheet you have Burnsey. We should all buy US Postal stamps and mail those to our Senators and Representatives Republicans and Dems alike.

I can take pictures, it's a bit scuffed up, being 3 years old, but it's in pretty good shape. I'll take pictures later tonight, or tomorrow.

I would find a 50GB SSD would be plenty for my use. Of course, it all depends on what you use it for. :)

is it a genuine charger? I saw somewhere someone else did buy a non-genuine charger and voltage was not the same thus making lot of problems, check the DC-inboard.
Ah I did not think of that, I'll check.
Thanks!

Awesome, I just switched from Sprint to T-Mobile. Granted, i had to pay $200 for the Blackberry Pearl, but mid-2007 is still quite a ways away. I guess it all depends on how cool this "iPhone" really is.

I actually still put in my e-mail address from my old ISP when they don't actually have to e-mail me.
Look around for e-mail accounts though. I'd do a Google on that one if it were me.

If it was any other store I would say no but Apple are famously accommodating (and probably more so if you've just spent thousands on a Mac Pro).
Then again, if you can afford said thousands, just buy the bluetooth keyboard separately and keep the wired as a spare!
I hope they are :)
That is not a bad idea.. but i'm planning to spend the left over $300 on some extra ram :D
If they aren't accommodating then i might just have to cancel my purchase ;)

An Air is the only laptop I’ll ever buy!
I still have the very 1st-gen (before SSD was economical so I have a plain HD) but it’s enough to run my business off of and do some pretty heavy tasks (Photoshop, Flash, 3D gaming at low detail). The latest models would be just awesome... but I’m waiting for Sandy Bridge before I upgrade.
If someone asked me what computer to get, and I wasn’t allowed to know anything about them, I’d default to recommending a base MacBook Air 11” with 4GB RAM. (Or maybe the 128 SSD, but few people outside of tech forums need more than 64 GB storage so frequently that it can’t be external or wireless. Everyone who can afford a Time Capsule should probably have one!)
Then I’d recommend that if they want a bigger screen, add get a cheap Dell 20-something-inch display and a mouse/keyboard, giving them a desktop experience. Until it’s time to leave the house, when that ultra-compact size is great.
I would generally not recommend the DVD drive. Most people have a DVD player already, and I for one have never needed to pay for a DVD drive in three years with my Air. I do occasionally use Air Disc, though. For free! So I suggest people wait and not get the DVD drive until/unless they need it. (Maybe for re-installing the OS after a catastrophe, if they have no access to another machine with a DVD.)

It is exactly the same. I even tried putting my iMac on the DMZ in my router to see whether a totally exposed machine helps, but not so.
You are running a Apple router and I am running a Linksys with the stock firmware. I will screw around a bit more in both my mac and the router and see whether I can sort something out and keep you guys posted.
Your settings match the Photos posted on page 1? PM me your ichat/AIM name.

That works so well! And I see there are "options" you can add with PayPal. Great! I hope my friend goes for the "per transaction" cost thing... she might be worried about that and would feel more comfortable with a flat monthly fee, I'm not sure...
Anyone else have experience with this system?

My modified original plan is for a Mac Pro:
1. 120 SSD for my boot drive, including OS and software: bay 1
2. 320 GB- 500 GB to backup the boot drive: bay 2.
3. 500 GB-750GB drive for photo storage and scratch disc: bay 3
4. the OEM 1 TB to backup the photo/scratch disc drive: bay 4.
...
Another question, SR20DETDOG stated I do not need a 7200 rpm drive for storage and that makes sense, but if I am using the drive as storage and scratch disc, then should I buy a 7200 rpm drive?
