KATIE GALLAGHER'S "SILENT SOIL"

Director Sebastian Mlynarski darts through designer Katie Gallagher’s latest Fall/Winter runway presentation through a series of quick, moody flashes. The short vignette entitled “Silent Soil” sets the perfect mood to experience Katie’s latest collection. From the make up to the clothes, you can’t deny that Katie and her work bloom from a different soil than the rest.

Katie Gallagher’s presentation at Made Fashion Week was at the top of our list of favorite shows this season. While many fashion designers may choose to celebrate their triumph over another hectic season at one of New York’s glamorous night clubs, Katie marches to the beat of a different drum. Here, she shares what she got up to:

Katie: After our fashion show was over, the best way to relax was obviously to go see Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica, and SLAYER! Our bestie Ayesha took Nikolay and I out to their sold-out show at Yankee Stadium, and we were beyond happy to relax from the soundboard with Raining Blood blasting at 130 decibels into the clear sky.

We ran around the backstage catacombs, with our favorite lord of darkness Paul Booth, his beautiful girlfriend Paola Duran, and the wonderful Ayesha & Kerry King. And then drank endlessly at the after party, right next door to Milk Studios. Not much to say beyond that. It was fun, drunk, metal, and the perfect end to the best fashion week we’ve ever had!!!
